While they were passing out tracts, I had one really good one to one conversation with an older gentleman.  That was about an hour and twenty minutes into us being there and I witness to him for about 15 minutes.  The boys just kept passing out tracts!!  Praise God for two little evangelists in training!

I didn’t think I could walk to the quad, find someone willing to talk, witness to them and get back to my car in less than 18 minutes, but I figured if God had calmed my nerves and provided parking, He would provide someone to talk to as well.

Sure enough, the first two guys I walked up to were willing to talk.  You can listen to the audio below.  Please pray for Dean and Conner (sorry if I spelled the wrong).  Oh yea, I made it  back to my car in seventeen minutes and thirty seconds.  God is good!

Teen1 did most of the talking and Teen2 just listened most of the time. I asked them about their religious beliefs and they both said they believed in God, but really hadn’t thought about it farther than that.

I asked them if they had thought about what would happen to them when they died.  Teen1 said that that question had been on his mind almost every day.  I asked him from what he has heard what he thought it would take to get to Heaven and he said “be a good person”.  I then asked him if he thought he was a good person and he said yes.  I told them that the Bible had a simple test to find out whether they were good in God’s sight or not and asked them if they wanted to take the test.  They both agreed that they wanted to.

I took them through 4 of the Ten Commandments; lying, lusting, stealing and murder.  We established that not only were they liars and thieves but also adulterers and murderers at heart.  When I asked them if they would be found innocent or guilty when they stood before God on Judgment Day Teen2 said “innocent”.  I asked him why since he had broken God’s Laws, and then he said that he guessed he would be guilty.

I explained Repentance and Faith to them and how Christ’s Sacrifice on the cross paid for their sins and asked them what they thought of it.  Teen 1 said he wanted to get saved, but he did not want to do it there.  Teen 2 didn’t really respond.  I told them  that when they got home to think about their sins and state before God and then repent of their sins and put their faith in Jesus alone for their salvation.  I gave them a tract to my Church and told them to call if they wanted to come and needed a ride or if they just wanted to talk to someone more.

Please pray for these two teens.

There were 6 teens there the whole time with another two or three coming and going.  It was really to large of a group to have a indepth good witnessing encounter with, but overall I think it went OK.

At least one of the guys there was visibly convicted after going through the law.  Overall, it’s just awesome to be able to walk into a public park and share the Gospel!

I started by finding a sign and document holder at a local office store.  I choose a 8.5″ x 11″ slanted sign holder made by Deflect-o.  It is model 590501 and cost about $18.  Below is a link to the sign holder on the manufacture’s site.

I then made a sign that I thought was funny and would catch peoples attention.  Here is a link to a PDF of the sign I made in case you would like to print one.

After that I dropped in the sign, dropped some tracts into the document pocket and set it up at my desk.

A Pro-Life Group was there.  I don’t know if they were Christians or not, so a couple of them got tracts :)

A Pro-Abortion group was also there.  Some of them got tracts too!  Two of the people gave them back when I told them they were Gospel tracts.  They said that they were Atheists and refused to take or keep the tracts.

Pray for the people who got tracts today.  Also pray for our country which has legalized killing 3500 of our defenseless citizens per day!

Question: “But Who Watches the Christians?”

Here is the answer…

Answer: God (Hebrews 12:5-11) and Non-Christians (1 Peter 2:11-15)

Since the question did not fully explain where they were coming from or what they were looking for in way of an answer, I assumed they were asking from a Non-Christian perspective.  I also assumed they were asking from the perspective of disagreeing with Christians and wondering who makes sure Christians do the “right” things.

So I answered “God (Hebrews 12:5-11) and Non-Christians (1 Peter 2:11-15)”

God (Hebrews 12:5-11)
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

God not only watches Christians, but treats us like His children and disciplines us when we do wrong!

Non-Christians: (1 Peter 2:11-15)
11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

Obviously the lost (Non-Christians/Gentiles) watch Christians.  They watch the things we do and the way we act.  Christians, do your works which they behold glorify God or cause them to blaspheme Him (Romans 2:4)?

I know the answer to that!  I think I will head back tomorow with some sidewalk chalk :)
